Packing It In

One of the worst parts about moving is trying to find boxes for everything. The best resource will probably be the local supermarket, as long as they don’t completely destroy the boxes. For years after I moved from Oregon, the sound of a tape gun gave me chills. I think I’m sufficiently recovered to start taping up boxes again without crying.

Then there’s the question of what to keep. I’m planning on moving in with my parents for a few months, and then to S. Korea, so I’m not going to need much in either location, especially in Korea, probably just some clothes, books, my kitchen knives, and some toiletries. And my yoga mat. Read more »

End of another phase

Friday night, October 2, marked the end of another phase in my life. It’s been a difficult few of months, years really. At this point, after a painful breakup and the realization that I’m not ready to run a kitchen despite my best efforts, I’m exploring my options.

First, it’s time to finish my degree. After that, I have some direction, but no real purpose yet. I think those are two very different things, the former having to do with the mind, the latter to do with the heart. For me, the heart is much more important, essential for living long term.
