No Week for the Weak
I’ve got close-to-open shifts today/tomorrow and again Monday/Tuesday, and potentially Tuesday/Wednesday and Wednesday/Thursday (This means I could be working from open to close Tuesday-Thursday.). Then I’m working 4 to close Friday and Saturday, off Sunday. Total hours for the week will probably be about 63 hours.
The other interesting thing about this week is that I’m going to be training at the front of the house. Brandon seems to relish the idea of training me and having me cover his lunch shifts. No surprise there since he’s working a lot of very long days already. And even when I’m covering for him, he doesn’t exactly get the time off since he’ll be about 5 miles away, tiling over at Tulips. Plus I’m sure at the beginning of going solo, I’ll be interrupting him with questions. He may even have to come in.
I’m in the kitchen until Tuesday, when I start in the kitchen at 9a, work until 2p, and do my Superman quick change and work in the front from 2:01-9p. I think my stint at the Marina Grand front desk warmed me up for this, but I’m sure there will be a plethora of issues that I haven’t anticipated yet.
It will be interesting!
You can be sure that everything you have done up till now has prepared you for what you are about to do. And then each day of this prepares you for the next. The planner will be essential. Loved your pad thai demo!
